Here it is!! My acoustic EP, “Hoy, Small Fry!” I picked my three favorite songs that I’ve written and recorded them to put out to you guys before I leave for Peru. I am very excited about this, though I’m sad that I didn’t have time to polish it more than I did, or put more songs on it. I was in a huge rush. This is the last music I will be releasing for over two years, and I only have a couple days before I cut off all communication with you guys, so I would really love to hear what you think asap!!
I hope you enjoy it. This is my best work.

Oh come on…

Really? Of all the Oz books you could possibly make a movie out of, they’re making a movie of one that isn’t even part of the official series. Once again adding to why I hate every film adaptation of anything The Wizard of Oz related.

… and by “hate” I mean “love/hate.” :)

Dewd. That’s a good looking wicked witch. Also Tin Man is awesome.

"All the same," said the Scarecrow, "I shall ask for brains instead of a heart; for a fool would not know what to do with a heart if he had one."

"I shall take the heart," returned the Tin Woodman; "for brains do not make one happy, and happiness is the best thing in the world."

L. Frank Baum, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz

THIS is how all Wizard of Oz adaptations should be done. These guys got it right; taking a given backstory and expanding upon it, instead of taking an already established story and making things up or completely changing it and causing it to contradict itself or other stories the work is supposed to be a part of. When I was little, and the Wizard of Oz was my absolute favorite thing in the world, the Tin Man used to be my favorite character, so finding a short film based entirely on him was kind of exciting. The acting in this film is pretty crap, but this is very accurate to the original Wizard of Oz book, and that in itself is enough reason for me to love this. If you’ve heard me ranting before, you’ll know that I get angry about virtually every Wizard of Oz film adaptation in existence, because they’re either very inaccurate to the book, or, even more commonly (and this frustrates me more than anything) they are based off of the 1939 movie instead of the book… WHICH MAKES NO SENSE BECAUSE THAT MOVIE WAS A DREAM.

Anyway, before I catch myself going off on another long rant, I just wanted to say that this is the most accurate film adaptation of the Wizard of Oz I have ever seen, and I wish more filmmakers would take the opportunity to make Wizard of Oz films that stay true to the books. I could get really nitpicky and tear this thing apart in terms of accuracy, but even so, the inaccuracies in this film are minimal and don’t kill or completely alter the story like the changes in most Oz films do. This short film makes me happy. The end.
