Here it is!! My acoustic EP, “Hoy, Small Fry!” I picked my three favorite songs that I’ve written and recorded them to put out to you guys before I leave for Peru. I am very excited about this, though I’m sad that I didn’t have time to polish it more than I did, or put more songs on it. I was in a huge rush. This is the last music I will be releasing for over two years, and I only have a couple days before I cut off all communication with you guys, so I would really love to hear what you think asap!!
I hope you enjoy it. This is my best work.
It’s all about accidentally writing the best harmony I’ve ever written because I was trying to come up with an easier way to sing my song.
NeckTOR, somehow better than the actual Victor.
Why would you turn me into something so scary?!
Wind waking and tingle tuning!
Oh hey it’s
me my hands and also one of Keegan’s hands.
The Adventures of That One Kid
This and one other longer story have been saved in my drafts forever. I suppose I should let this one see the light of day… I don’t know when I wrote this, but it was a very long time ago.
The Adventures of That One Kid
A long time ago in a galaxy that’s pretty close there lived a boy named Kermit. He had at least three friends and he was very proud of his large collection of jackalope antlers. He liked the smell of rotting animal carcasses and he frequently watched videos of people dancing around in their underpants. His hobbies included cleaning his closet, and beating his pet fish. He lived a happy life with his mother Gilbert, his father Gil, and his older sister Melvin. Well, it wasn’t that happy…
Probably the best photo of me that I know of. I miss these days…
Something I designed for my friends in Actions a while back. Just found this on my computer. Not sure if they ever used it for anything, but I think it’s kinda cool, and it was fun to make!
Sometimes I think my friends and I are the funniest people in the world… but then years later I see some of the stupid things we did… and I realize we’re even funnier than I thought.
Today could have been the day I would be checking in to the MTC if they would have called me as early as my availability date would have allowed. Thank goodness I’m still here. I haven’t heard new blink-182 yet, I haven’t ridden the new Star Tours yet, and I haven’t played a T-Rex Planet show yet. Plus I like you guys in Eugene :)
Three good dreams in one night. Nice.
Dream 1: I was for some reason on tour with Yellowcard (not in another band or as a performer or anything, but for some reason I was just on tour with them) and I got to hang out with the band all day every day and Sean starting teaching me to play the Violin so that I could come out and play it live with them sometime. The dream ended before that happened.
Dream 2: Went on a weird date that doesn’t make any real life sense with a cute girl.
Dream 3: Resident Evil was real and I was being attacked by infected black people but somehow I wasn’t that scared and I was throwing CD cases at their heads. Luckily there were many potted herbs in the building I was inside in case I ever needed to heal myself.
Dream 1 totally pwnt dreams 2 and 3.
A story I wrote years ago that I just found:
Once upon a time in the far off land of New Oregon there lived a young teenager-aged man named Theodore. One day, Theodore and his best friend Gunther were on their way to the playground when they saw a guy who had broken his leg in a freak jumping out of a moving vehicle accident. They ignored the man and continued on their conquest to the playground.
When they arrived at the place, they were about to play “chase each other around with knives” when all of the sudden they both died.
EDIT: Oh yeah, this even shorter story was written on the back:
Once upon a time there were three little boys who threw rocks at each other until they all died. Two of them went to heaven and the other one went to hell.
It makes no sense, but I don’t care.
I hate being in front of groups of people. Growing up I’ve always hated giving presentations in school, speaking in church, or even raising my hand to answer a question or give my input to a class discussion. I was in a play in middle school. I hated it. I’m quiet, I’m shy, I don’t like the attention. Nobody would expect that my favorite thing in the world is just a variation of something I hate so much. Ever since the first time I stepped on that stage at the WOW Hall and played my first concert with T-Rex Planet playing shows has been my favorite thing to do. Playing my own music in front of large groups of people. Large groups of people that under any other circumstance I’d hate to be up on a stage in front of. I don’t understand it at all, but for whatever reason I can’t get enough of it. The kids who come to see us and support us are the best. The feeling you get when a big group of people are dancing and moshing to your music is so energizing. The feeling you get when a whole venue full of people are singing the lyrics to a song that you wrote alone in your bedroom late one night is the most amazing thing. The experiences you have when people you’ve never met before in your life who come up to you after you’re done and tell you that you did a great job, and that they can’t wait to see you again, are the best experiences. I can’t wait until Summer when I get to play my next show, and I can’t wait for the next one after that, and I can’t wait to keep playing them for the rest of my life.
